Sunday finished up the first official week of practices for the 2016 version of the Örebro Black Knights. The team practiced Tuesday and Thursday in preparation for two days of two-a-day practices for the weekend in Lindesberg. The players, coaches, and support personnel found a great home for the weekend in the clubhouse and on the indoor turf field in Lindesberg. Moving camp out of town allowed us to practice under more game like conditions than would have been possible in the snow in Örebro.
Moving the camp out of town also helped to bring the team together in between practice sessions while eating at Enelly’s (a club sponsor), visiting Lindesberg Handball (my new favorite team), and while resting and recovering. The players did a great job during training camp applying the techniques and strategies that the coaches implemented on both sides of the ball. The coaching staff has been very impressed with the overall base of football knowledge that we have encountered with the players this first week. We were very happy with the effort, focus, and intensity in the practice sessions. It is a lot of fun to coach players who give great effort on every play.
We really thank everyone involved in making this weekend camp possible, and we look forward to continuing our technical and strategic development as we head into our 2nd training camp in March. We look forward to seeing a large fan base to support the team at Behrn Arena vs Stockholm on April 15th. Go Black Knights!
