Special Teams koordinator 2025

HC Branko Mutic har gjort klart med Matt Mason i rollen som Special teams koordinator inför säsongen 2025.

As soon as Matt joined our staff last year, he proved him self as a reliable piece of the puzzle helping the team in any way necessary. I am confident he will take our special teams to the next level!

Branko Mutic HC bout Matt Mason

Who is Matt Mason:

Im 31, been in Sweden now 9 months moving from he UK. I’d say im a friendly and easy guy to get along with, but I’m very hungry to learn and driven to get the best out of people every day. I started playing in 2018 with the Scunthorpe Alphas in the UK in their inaugral season, but I played only for 6 months as an RB in 2018, before a serious knee injury put a halt to that. I transitioned to coaching while injured because i fell in love with the sport and couldn’t get away from it, honestly. I was the Alphas Running Backs coach for their senior team between 2019-2023, but also as a coach for their U16 team between 2020-2022. Then, I moved here and found the Black Knights in March 2024, joined almost immediately, and coached as an Assistant Defence Coach during the 2024 season. For this season, im very honoured and excited to be called up by Branko to lead the Special Teams unit for the Black Knights. The work and the energy that Alex Bornerud put into the unit last year was amazing to see, and we will certainly build on that. I am looking forward to working with a very talented group of players and making this ST unit shine. Lets get after it.
